Yesterday we were proud to welcome just some of the inspirational young people working on Think Big Projects to our Glasgow site. The day was a celebration of achievements along with development time to further grow qualities and skills to help their projects grow.
Youth trainers Dave Gibbs and Jeanna Park hosted the event alongside our O2 Helpers. Ten different projects attended the day to showcase their success stories. These were: The Springfield Community Association Young Persons User Forum, Music F'Ayr, Project Africa, Radio FM2012, Fife Youth Achievement Awards, Fife Youth Disco, Life in Fife, European Science day for Youth, NSC and Back in Time.
Each project shared their level one journey using creative ways. Some of the projects used visual models, drawings, graphs and we even had some role play radio interviews. The teams shared their positive and negative experiences while also sharing advice and giving tips to help each other grow. It was great to see the passion these young people have in driving their projects forward.
In the afternoon the teams worked on further developing their projects. Some continued to work on their level one plans and others started to move toward the 2nd level by setting goals and milestones. Think Big Alumni Ricky Williamson delivered a short talk on his successful journey. Ricky has been through the level one and two process and was happy to share his experiences and knowledge with the group.
As the day came to a close the teams reflected on their work and took away with them their plans for the future. We had a great day hosting the event and hope the young people enjoyed it too. Keep scrolling to see some photos taken on the day.
