On Tuesday 16th April, O2 Glasgow welcomed 60 young people from the West Dunbartonshire area, along with their teachers, to our 2nd Think Big School Day. Our guests came from Our Lady & St. Partrick’s, Dumbarton Academy, Vale of Leven Academy, St. Peter the Apostle and Clydebank High.

We started the day by looking at the tasks that they do every day and over the morning, all our guests dreamt up an idea that would make one of these tasks easier or more pleasant to do. We had some great ideas, including  an app that sensed your mood and created a music playlist to either pick you up of calm you down, a device that would let you learn while you slept (very popular) and an automatic bed-maker!
We looked at HTML coding, the building blocks of the internet, and how the ‘net has developed over the years.

The afternoon was spent looking at the ‘pitch’ and how to market your product, and we finished by hearing some very convincing pitches from the pupils.

Our Think Big team welcomed some new members, including CSMs Marie Trower, Joanne Ferguson and Carole Bruce (who got our pupils going after lunch with her legendary Zumba warm-up!) and some new friends from Retail (Ria Lawrie, Martyn Kelly and Claire Philps.)

We had a hugely enjoyable day and look forward to more TBS events later in the year.
